Cilantro this amazing herb is cooling in nature which soothes inflammation. It is also a potent detoxifier and natural anti-histamine!
Ingredients
- 1/2 c soaked cashews (soaking cashews, see notes section)
- generous handful of organic fresh cilantro (add in stems, leaves and all)
- 1/4 cup filtered water (to achieve desired consistency, may need additional water)
- 2 T MCT oil
- 2 T unsalted tahini
- juice from one lime
- a generous splash of coco aminos
- 1/4 tsp maple syrup (optional)
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- Himalayan salt to taste
- freshly ground black pepper (want it to make it spicy, add cayenne)
Instructions
- Add ingredients to blender or bullet
- Blend until nice and creamy (if the consistency still seems too thick, simply and slowly add a bit more water)
- Store in closed container, enjoy within 4 days
Notes
Ideas: slather this sauce on everything, it can be used as a topping for main meals, replace sandwich spread with this sauce, add a generous dollop to a salad, take 1/2 an avocado, grill and finish off with this sauce, can be added into a nice creamy soup such as butternut squash, add a spoonful to a simple rice dish, use as a dip with fresh veggies or seeded crackers
Quick Method Soaked Cashews:
Place cashews in a small pot and cover with water. Bring water to boil. Cover and remove from heat. Soak cashews for 15 minutes. Drain.
Soaked Cashews:
Add cashews to container. Cover with filtered water. Soak overnight, at least 4 hours ideally 6 - 8 hours. Drain water, and rinse soaked cashews before using.
