Day Six

A WALKING MEDITATION

(If walking is not an option due to health concerns please feel free to enjoy this invitation in any which way that would nurture or serve you)

Connecting and being in nature

An invitation to take part in a walking meditation. For centuries walking meditations have been part of culture and civilization. Simply put you are walking with mindfulness. However, a waling meditation is much more rich than this.

It allows us

  • to connect with nature

  • feel a sense of being grounded within our being

  • norishes

  • calms

  • soothes

  • quietens our sorrows and worries

This will be a walk with intention, focus, heart, and devotion. Many times in our daily lives we lose sight of the sheer beauty of being able to move about. Our bodies extend and share the ultimate gift, being here in form so that we may know or come to know the infinite source behind the form (formlessness).

How to do a Walking Meditation

Walk alone, if possible

Walk at a leisurely pace, let the pace be in rhythm with the peace you may experience as you follow along (if you are doing a guided mediation)

Be open

Set an intention

Use the Guided Walking Meditation link below or not

Let yourself really sink into the space of gratitude as you begin this venture

Bathe your body and soul in sweet messages of gratitude:

Imagine the words softly flowing in and all around you

As you silently speak these words:

I am connected to source. I am blissful. I am are worthy. It is my birthright to feel good. My happiness is my responsibility, and for this I am grateful. I am opening my mind and heart to the fullness of life. I am strong. I grateful for this time in nature. I am an exquisite expression of love. I am thankful for the infinitely blue sky, the warmth of the sun, the wind that tickles my skin, and the rain that generally falls from the sky. I am open to seeing people, places, things, and situations to appreciate that I have never thought of before. I am thankful for the ability to sense the natural world. I am imagining healing light permeating every cell in my body, every organ in my system. Thank you for the amazing jobs you continue to automatically carry out. I truly love you and give great thanks.

A walking meditation is helpful for moving you out of your head and into your body. If your mind is busy or anxious, a focused walk can support you in connecting with the present moment. This meditation uses the breath to relax both body and mind; and takes time to ground, even whilst walking.
