About Leslie Storms

I was raised in east Texas, my family attended a Methodist church until we moved to a rural town. At this point, we stopped attending church however my best friend’s father was a baptist minister. I attended church with my best friend; however during this time I had a few experiences that shook my faith. Without awareness, I sort turned away from all things religious.

I had no idea what I wanted to be when, so I became a nurse because my high school boyfriend’s Mom was a nurse. Later I realized that a career in nursing lacked the nourishment that my soul craved. I began working toward obtaining a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. While in graduate school, as a way of alleviating stress I began to practice yoga. This led me on the path of becoming a certified yoga teacher. I was fortunate enough to teach at premier yoga studios within the Dallas metroplex. But alas I grew tired of the drive as well as all the requirements to remain a teacher. So I took a leap —I closed my private marriage & family counseling practice, stopped teaching yoga and began to dive deeply into spirituality.

My spiritual studies have been primarily under the loving guidance of Adyashanti. Additionally, I am heavily influenced in my personal practices by Paramahansa Yoganandya’s teachings.

I realize that being born white and middle class has afforded me privileges. But as a child I had very little guidance and was a “latch-key kid.” I have had to make it on my own for the most part. My parents believed in tough love. However, I believe in an unseen benevolent love. And through Grace I continue to see a way. I love to meditate. I could hang out in the cosmos all day, but I feel that the divine has plans for all efforts that I have poured forth to be given back to the world. I have always looked for someone to do this sort of work with me, but no one has come. Therefore I trust that at this time, I am to bravely step up and share the love that I have come to touch upon.

I am an avid yoga practitioner, who enjoys creating art, soaps, salves, foods, and really anything that gives me the chance to be in and with nature. I have the most supportive and generous husband and one fiery little rescue terrier. I have a lot of family thanks to my husband who had a family prior to me, and I get to enjoy their presence and love so very much.
