A Surprising + Sensible Way to Glowing Skin

A Surprising + Sensible Way to Glowing Skin

“It is always the simple that produces the marvelous.” -Amelia Barr

How to get that glow?

Lavishly and generously apply Organic Whole Milk Plain Greek Yogurt onto your skin twice weekly —ღ

Simply through the weekly application of yogurt I have seen drastic changes to my skin. I have struggled with acne prone skin most of my adult life and all of this has resolved. My skin now has a glow, it’s softer and stays hydrated throughout the day. The hyper-pigmented areas have significantly faded, fine lines and wrinkles are less visible, and I no longer need to apply additional moisturizers. I am truly obsessed!

The why:

Fights Acne

Exfoliates the Skin

Gives the Skin a Gorgeous Glow

Moisturizes the Skin with 100% Natural Ingredients

Calms the Skin

Plumps and Smoothes Fine Lines and Wrinkles

Full fat dairy contains fatty acids that are essential in helping to build healthy cell membranes. The polyunsaturated fats help to plump and hydrate the skin. Yogurt also has proteins, calcium, vitamins, and probiotics … as well as lactic acid and alpha hydroxy acid which sloughs away dead skin cells leaving the skin fully rejuvenated.

Experts agree. Dr. Judith Hellman, NYC Dermatologist and Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Mt. Sinai Hospital, says yogurt helps to rejuvenate and soften the skin. (source)

Directions:

Simply apply a generous layer onto clean dry skin, allow the yogurt to remain on the skin for 15-30 minutes, rinse with cool water, and pat dry. Most likely there will be a moisture rich residue or film left on the skin, it’s important to allow this to remain on the skin so that it can penetrate more deeply.

How often to apply:

One to two times weekly

How long to leave it on:

Individualized based on sensitivity of your skin. Recommendation 15- 30 minutes, but start with 5-10 minutes to minimize the change of experiencing any adverse reactions

Where to apply:

Face, neck, backs of hands, feet, and/or dry heels

Unfortunatley, I have found that all yogurts are not created equally. I have tried countless brands of plain yogurt and Kalona SUPERNATURAL Organic Whole Milk Plain Greek Yogurt outperforms the others. I am convinced that the difference is their commitment to maintain the integrity of the milk, (minimal processing).

Most brands are homogenized which means the dairy has been taken through an unnecessary mechanical process that changes the fat in dairy products. Kalona products are non-homogenized giving them a silky texture of whole cream. This texture is lost when the fat is altered through homogenization.” (source)

As always I am committed to living and leading an organic, natural, conscious lifestyles. Let me know how it goes for you and keep in mind you can add lots of other kitchen ingredients to give your weekly yogurt mask a boost by adding different whole food ingredients.

Boost Ideas: fresh or powdered turmeric, honey, fresh squeezed lemon juice, finely grated lemon peel, pumpkin puree, smashed avocado, pumpkin seed oil, carrot seed oil, loose green tea, finely ground coffee, finely ground white rice, chickpea flour, oatmeal, papaya puree, grind all natural dried berries from grocery store, and marshmallow root powder

Simply use a clean coffee grinder to finely grind berries, herbs, teas, and such.
